I have read very many Christian books in my years of being a Christian (born again in 1979). I have tried to catch up, through reading, with things I had missed in my earlier years. As a woman, many of the books I read seemed to be very patriarchal in nature, and, although I am a Christian, I am also a woman who is a feminist. This (Heaven on Earth) was the first book I had read that was a Christian tome that STILL had a feminist sense. I was so happy when I began to read that I couldn't stop. I think it was very well written and would buy other books by this author. In fact, I am going to look on Amazon later today to see if she is as prolific as she is good. Keep the fight going. You can be a Christian and a feminist at the same time. I am just assuming that her mother must have instilled the feminist feelings in her years ago as I do with my daughter today(she is 10). I almost NEVER meet another Christian who is in agreement with women's issues that vitally affect their lives. I would recommend this book to any Christian women. You are your own person and that is part of the attitude of this book. Most of the men in my church, however, do feel that women should be at home and do nothing more than home schooling. They think women should not have a career (I am a Sociology professor at a university I don't want to name). I don't really beleive that I could home school because I am so used to dealing with adults on an adult level. Some think that it is evil for a woman to say what is on her mind.
